I Tried

 

I tried to write,

I tried to fight,

I tried in vain

to find a light.

 

I tried to love,

I tried to live,

I tried it all

with nought to give.

 

I had a drink,

I found a friend,

I tried to sink,

I tried to mend.

 

I tried to sing,

I tried to cry,

I tried at life

I want to die.
